Sword-based apps on PPC

SUSE 11.0 on eMac G4: The JSword/BibleDesktop Java app freezes on an unknown error. No errors reported on the commandline. Bibletime is not available for me, yet. No trace of GnomeSword that I can find.

Is there any reason I can’t use the packages built for 10.3/PPC? Or should I try to build from SRPMs?

Hi
I helped a user maybe a month or so ago to compile sword/bibletime
etc from source on x86…(can’t remember when though lol). There were
some issues with gcc4.3 I imagine it should build ok for ppc though.

Thank you both. I managed to compile Bibletime from source as the shortest path, since my desktop is KDE. I tested it a couple of times and it seems to work fine.

I simply used the latest SUSE SRPMs I could find, and used rpmbuild to tell me what dependencies were missing.
