hi all
i want use gdm
Switching to KDM
If you’re switching to KDE you may want to switch to the KDE login manager (or display manager) KDM too.
Edit the file /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager and set DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
Or use YaST /etc/sysconfig/ Editor, and select KDM under Desktop -> Display manager -> DISPLAYMANAGER
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_install
use this ? :X
: Edit the file /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager and set DISPLAYMANAGER=" * gdm" ???/

As root edit: /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager
And change
DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
to
DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm"
Then run: rcxdm restart
Yes, that works. But …
first make sure that “gdm” is actually installed.
Then edit the indicated file. The variable is likely set to “kdm” so that’s a one-letter change.
You will get “gdm” on reboot. Or, if you want to hurry it up, you could do:
# telinit 3
# telinit 5
I suggest a several second pause between those. The first shuts down the desktop. The second restarts it.
