Switching from kernel-default to kernel-desktop

Hi.

I installed openSUSE 12.1 using the KDE Live CD on my Dell Latitude D820 laptop. I then discovered that I had the default kernel (kernel-default) and not the desktop kernel (kernel-desktop) installed. I’d like to switch to the desktop kernel. Can I do this simply by installing kernel-desktop using Yast or zypper and the reboot?

 Regards, Micke.

Add the repository 12.1 Standard : Index of /repositories/Kernel:/openSUSE-12.1/standard . Then I think you’ll be able to install the desptop kernel.

Yes, just install the other kernel using yast, and you should get a new
entry for it in the boot grub menu.

No need to add any new repo.

After booting once and check that the new kernel works fine, you can delete
the other one using yast again.
