Hi guys,
A little background is needed to explain my situation. I have a 3 year old laptop on which the headphone jack cracked and is broken. So if I want to use headphones I have to plug in a M-Audio Jamlab, which I think works like a usb sound card. The thing was made for guitar and has a guitar input and 3.5mm headphone output.
I’ve been having issues switching between my speakers and the Jamlab. One of my favorite things in Windows 7 is that I just right click on the speaker icon, hit sound devices, and then click on either the speakers or the jamlab and do “set as default”, and the sound (all of it) will instantly switch over to the devices I chose. Even if it is in the middle of a song, or a game is open or something.
The way openSuse is working for me right now reminds me of windows XP where you have to close any program using audio, sometimes even re-start just to get it to switch devices.
So, this post is much longer than it needs to be

Is there any way I can switch between the two sound devices quickly without having to go into yast, and sound options and all that stuff? Is there some kind of shortcut or script or something that could do it for me?

Firefox and Banshee seem to have different audio outputs. When I move the slider on the bottom right audio it only changes one of them. This is really annoying too. Is there some way I can just have one slider change every sound option (pcm and other ones too)?
