I’m running 11.1 with Gnome Desktop environment.
I want to try out the latest KDE desktop and see what its like but be
able to move back to Gnome if required.
Is there a way I can install KDE 4.2 desktop environemnt and then
switch between Gnome and KDE?
All help appreciated.

You must disable auto login in Yast Users - first
You must add the repo’s for kde4.2
or use the OneClick
‘KDE/KDE4 - openSUSE’ (http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/KDE4#Installation)
at the login screen - lower left of screen select session of choice
and login
