Swap in 9070 XT to tumbleweed desktop, amdgpu DMCUB error

Hello,
Greatly appreciate if someone knows what to do here:
I just got a sapphire 9070 XT GPU to replace my 1070 ti and I am getting this error.
Tried troubleshooting for a while to no avail, I can’t seem to find having this failure specifically.
I first removed nvidia drivers, plugged in the card, I missed a MOK screen (maybe that is the issue? I don’t know the mokutil for AMD though), secure boot or not I am getting the same DMCUB error.
All the usual info tools showed the card was recognized, couldn’t get my DE though.
The only attempt I could find is adding to my grub CMDLINE: amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x210, that caused a hang on the _ OS load, maybe I misentered it. I’m not familiar enough yet with grub.
So I snapper rollbacked to a save I made before attempting and put my 1070 ti back in to write this post.

Next time I try I will be more deliberate with each stage of the swap. Maybe it will catch or someone has an idea  I’m sure this is workable…

There are already several threads about this topic.

Thank you for the link. I couldn’t get kernel-firmware-amdgpu to install while I was troubleshooting. I will try those builds next attempt if that’s the issue.

So kernel-firmware-amdgpu-20250616 did fix the drm error and now dmesg looks more normal.
However I still have no DE even with that fix and I’m still booting to terminal. Maybe I should use an older firmware version?
