howzit folks?

since i did a system update followed by install of akonadi and after a second reboot i’m getting a kernel segmentation fault. i’ve tried repairing the installed system and i’ve tried doing a fresh install but all to no avail.

does anyone ahve any idea what’s causing this?

my system configuration is as follows:
amd phenom 9500 quad core
8gb ramm
samsung hd501lj 500gb disk drive
ati radeon x1200 series graphics card
ati hdmi audio
realtek high definition audio
realtek pcie gbe ethernet card
bios: phoenix technologies - asus m2a-vm hdmi

additional info:

when i try to repair installed system using the x86_64 dvd and the automatic repair the following happens:

check partition tables - ok
check swap areas - ok
check file systems
ntfs - problematic (not an issue at this stage)
searching for currently mounted partitions - hangs

anyone have any ideas?

i will try each of the repair options and a fresh install and post results here.

looks like you need to run memtest.

i did google but nothing significant came up as i had the 1000000000000 included. :open_mouth:

memtest is showing dodgy memory. >:(
