Suspending to Disk

suse 11.1, KDE 4.1.3, NVidia driver 180.18 (beta)
Hi, I was on trouble with the distribution provided suspend to disk feature. In my impression, by hibernating, the network will be disabled 2 times, perhaps once by suse and once by the kernel acpi: anyway, on resume there is no way to make the network work again. Tested just on fiew identic laptops.
I found easily that
echo 4b > /proc/acpi/sleep
echo 4 > /proc/acpi/sleep
work for me very well.
So I wrote for my family a small front-end with root executing privileges. It works exactly and evrybody is happy.
However, I like very much the suse exthetic solution, the elegant bitmap with thermometer instead the ugly black screen. While fully incompetent about Linux programming, I would like to take a look at the referring opensuse block of code. Any idea about where to find it, file name and so on?
Thank you in advance
