Suspend/sleep doesn't work

on my laptop with my new installed slowroll running KDE I select “sleep” but it doesnt work
how can I have the sleep working?

Check in the power applet that you don‘t have sleep disabled.
Swap used? Big enough?

it seems enabled

I think yes

Have you tried some or all of the other options / variations in the second drop down box?

https://docs.kde.org/stable_kf6/en/powerdevil/kcontrol/powerdevil/index.html

Do you have a nvidia graphics card? As I think sometimes they can cause problems with sleep on PC’s etc.

Open a terminal and issue systemctl suspend: if it does not suspend it should print error codes.
Anyway journalctl --system -b -r should show the suspend and resume log (in reverse order, latest message first).
If your normal user is not in the systemd-journal group you may have to run that command as superuser.

not, I have Graphics=Intel Iris Xe Graphics

not it doesn’t suspend and doesn’t print errors codes
the screen becomes black, the fan continue to spin, when I press shift or another keystroke reappear the screen to insert password

pla@plaST-slowroll:~> systemctl suspend
pla@plaST-slowroll:~>

I saved in a file the command journalctl --system -b -r
these are the part where the suspend is present, if it is useful I’ll post all the file

I cannot say what is causing this ATM.

hibernate works if it can be useful

I tried the three options standby, hybrud and standby then hybernate but doesn’t work

Aug 25 18:46:25 plaST-slowroll kernel: ACPI: EC: interrupt unblocked
Aug 25 18:46:25 plaST-slowroll kernel: ACPI: EC: interrupt blocked

Everything looks normal up to kernel: ACPI: EC: interrupt blocked, then “something” wakes up the system or something refuses to suspend for whatever reason. In between those two lines you should see the ACPI EC (Embedded Controller) and the CPUs suspending and then resuming.

If hibernate does work, look for differences in the journal about the ACPI: EC: events.

in the journal with hybernate these are the differences, in practice with suspend there is nothing

Yes, that looks like a normal suspend (hibernate) sequence.
Maybe the “suspend to RAM” process tries to use sleep states that are not supported by the CPU and so the CPU resumes immediately?
The output of the following commands might shed some light on what is supported:

cat /sys/power/state
cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
cat /sys/power/disk

Details available at sleep-states.html

Maybe I have overlooked it, which kernel are you using? Do you have dual boot? What is the output of “sudo lsinitrd -m | grep ‘resume’”?

By the way, do you have USB devices attached (mouse, keyboard, etc.). If so, is wake-up enabled?

Better sudo lsinitrd -m | grep resume (without quotes, or use double quotes)

here is

pla@plaST-slowroll:~> cat /sys/power/state
freeze mem disk
pla@plaST-slowroll:~> cat /sys/power/mem_sleep

pla@plaST-slowroll:~> cat /sys/power/disk
