Just to share the pleasure to “discover” that suspend is working again (at least for me). I stopped using this feature a few months ago when it became problematic to resume after a longish time in sleep mode. Now using kernel: 6.8.9-1-default and seems to work well. I missed when this was fixed. Only thing I noticed is that upon resuming I do not have to log in as it was the case before.
When you were logged in when the system suspended, you are always still logged in when the system resumes. At the most you will be asked for your password to unlock the screen. If that locking is done or not may depend on a setting in your desktop configuration.
And when you (nor any other user) were not logged in when the system suspended, no user will be logged in after resume.
That is the nature of suspend: the situation of the system is frozen and thus the number of logged in users at that moment (zero, one, two, three, more) will not change.
