We have procured a Video Conferencing equipment from Tandberg(IP based).I want to set this up behind my firewall. I am using Opensuse 10.2 with builtin Susefirewall2.
I tried opening the ports. Now i can dial and connect to remote site but no video or sound.
Please let me know how can i open required ports both incoming and outgoing in Susefirewall2 for one internal IP of the equipment so that i can get video/sound.
Allowing the incoming might be trickier. Check again that you’ve opened all ports required by this software - for correct protocols (tcp/udp etc.).
Are any routers/hardware firewalls/ISPs involved in this too? Or is the videoconferencing done between people on the same lan? … Maybe SUSE isn’t the problem.
Does it work if you (temporarily) disable SuSEfirewall2? (‘rcSuSEfirewall2 stop’)
