suse11 yast can't access nvidia server

Hey guys,
I was using gnome, up until recently, when I decided to go back to KDE. (I never used gnome before and wanted to give it a shot. ultimately I didn’t like it.)

So I did a new install of Suse 11 and added a bunch of repositories and performed updates. ran into a snag with Nvidia. I couldn’t add Nvidia as a repository to yast. And therefor I couldn’t install the driver for my video card.

I’ve been checking for about a week now (thinking the Nvidia servers were down) it’s been too long and now I’m thinking that perhaps there’s something kooky going on with my machine.

Any ideas? anyone heard of issues with Nvidia…I’ve tried to find some news about it and have come up dry.

Last thing is, I can’t log onto to Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies in linux. but when I start up windows and try to access the site, I get on no prob. I’ve also tried to install the driver with the one click install from http//en.opensuse.com/NVIDIA that also doesn’t work.

Any help you guys could lend me would be great…and if you need more info (for my system or log files) let me know.

Are you able to access ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.0/?

nope i can’t get on the site…grr. starting to wonder if i should just reinstall? perhaps something wasn’t installed right. i don’t know
