SUSE11 SP1 on Hyper V

Hi

We have installed SLES11 SP1 on HyperV with IDE Controller and seeing some vague behavior.

SLES11 SP1*********
hsles11sp1:/ # cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
hsles11sp1:/ # fdisk -lu

Disk /dev/hda: 21.5 GB, 21474836480 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 2610 cylinders, total 41943040 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0008aa83

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 63 4209029 2104483+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hda2 4209030 29382884 12586927+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda3 * 29382885 41929649 6273382+ 83 Linux
hsles11sp1:/ # ls /proc/ide/
drivers hdc ide1
hsles11sp1:/ # cat /proc/ide/ide1/hdc/media
cdrom

whereas the same commands on SLES11 GA behave…

SLES11 GA******

It seems SLES11 SP1 on HyperV ( IDE Controller) doesn’t list disks under /proc/scsi/scsi.
Under /proc/ide/hd? …it just shows cdrom.
Any idea why this should happen ?

Also we tried changing the HyperV setting to SCSI Controller but OS fails to boot up both for SLES 11 and SLES11 SP1 …saying no hard disks found.

Appreciate any help!
Thanks
