My system as you see is in Hungarian language. The “Igen” means yes and the “Nem” means no…
I hope that I’ve provided the information you’ve needed.
Perhaps the software update made it, anyway, now I have sound!
Maybe I would have not made it without the instructions and help of oldcpu.
Thank you very much!
Anyway, let me give you some feedback on what you posted:
You have way more alsa apps than you need. Do you plan to install “jack” ? If not, then you don’t need the “jack” apps. The same is true for alsa-plugins-samplerate, alsa-docs, alsa-tools-devel, alsa-plugins-maemo, alsa-plugins-maemo-32bit, alsa-devel. I simply do not understand why you need those apps.
OK, one caution here. This is an older kernel version (2.6.27.7). There is a newer 2.6.27.21 version available. There is a good chance when you install the newer version your sound will break again. You will need to update your alsa version at that time to an alsa packaged for the new kernel.
Well done there. The line " options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4 enable_msi=1 " is the “trick” to getting this to work.
I note you have elected to set up videolan repository. A caution there. … IF you decide to install Packman packaged multimedia applications, there is a signficant likelyhood that they will not be compatible with the applications you installed from videolan. I prefer Packman over Videolan, so I typically recommend users do NOT setup the Videolan repos but instead use the Packman repos. But just so you know, you can go with one, or the other, but NOT both.
Also, you should remove the “multimedia” repos. Thats important. The rpms on that repos are so cutting edge, they WILL BREAK your sound if you leave that repos there. Its just a matter of time. You should remove that “multimedia” repos.
I also recommend you remove the Debug and Source repos. Unless you are a heavy openSUSE developer, you have no need for those.
