Suse Studio "Defualt Installation"

Hi, I have been trying out Suse Studio some and I must say that it is a very nice service. I would like to make a custom installation medium of opensuse that is not that much different from the “defualt one” or so to say, I think it’s easier to have that and then remove package rather that just add package from scratch…

So my question is if I can get this some how? I want an KDE installation… Can I then pick the right paterns and get an insallation that is exacly the same as the one you download from here? Or is there not any way to do that?

Then I would also wonder how long time it takes before opensuse 11.2 will be in Suse Studio? I’m not really in a hurry or anything like that but it would be nice to know it there is some date that are specified.

SuSE Studio “11.2” has been asked on the mailing lists, they’re “working on it”; it won’t be soon.

If you like look of 11.2, why don’t you download Net Install CD, or DVD and then de-select stuff you don’t want, and add things you do, during the Installation by going into the Software - Details.

I delect somethings I don’t ever use (or know I’ll upgrade soon eg) Firefox), and put some stuff on “taboo”, to prevent it getting pulled in by recommendations of other packages eg) hplip & beagle.

I often add a few programs to the defaults that I will use soon after the install.

I’d be surprised if when you Select “KDE Desktop” in Studio, you get a hugely different package selection, from if you choose the KDE Desktop pattern in the normal install.
