Suse Storeage Server (opinions needed)

Greetings to all. I am considering the possibility of using open suse as a platform for serving up storage for a small network. Ideally I need to serve storage to a windows cluster as well as Linux servers and workstations. Initially, I was thinking of using NFS, however now I am considering iSCSI.

Any thought or suggestions to put me on track would be greatly appreciated.

Why not use a ready-made for this purpose distro such as openfiler?

Thank you for your suggestion. I was not aware this existed. Are there any similar products out there?

Yes, there is the BSD based FreeNAS.
