Suse Software Management frozen

After an installation of SUSE 11.1 the software management hangs short after it started with YaST2.
Kwin sends a message that the Window with title YaST2 is not responding. Only the termination works.
What could be the reason, and what could help? Could you assist me with your knowledge?

you are aware that 11.1 is not supported any more - it is past it’s “End Of Life”
please stay current and install 11.4

Beside that, the reason why it hangs is probably simply that it tries to
access online repositories which do no longer exist (I would guess it runs
into a long timeout and one just has to wait long enough till it throughs an
error).
I second that it is really no good idea to install 11.1 but instead 11.4
should be the choice.
