I thought that the driver was a “normal” one and that it would read the firmware
files from /lib/firmware. I found out later, and told you so here, that this
driver needs to use programs from the hostap-utils package to load the firmware.
You can delete those .hex files from /lib/firmware.
This problem shows why the kernel developers no longer allow strange drivers
like this into the kernel. All modern drivers must load firmware from a binary
file that is in /lib/firmware.
I’m lost too, and have not found any working samples for loading this firmware.
