I tried to download some 4.10 kernel source and binary rpm’s from:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard
after responder in another forum suggested they might work better than standard kernel.org based kernel, which wouldn’t boot 42.2.
I tried direct download to yast, download to file followed by opening with yast and rpm -i on various binary, source, symbols, firmware, etc rpm’s.
Yast always produced this error:
An error occurred during repository initialization. Specified path ‘/tmp/YaST2-03249-1iSHHQ/tmp_install_repo’ is not a directory: file:/tmp/YaST2-03249-1iSHHQ/tmp_install_repo
The temp repo file is in the repo list of Yast, but it was not created in /tmp.
How can this be fixed?

Hi
Looks like a new build so may not be out on all the mirrors when you
tried, I only see it on one mirror at preset…
Try again now.
