Suse Install Froze, Grub removed XP?

I recently tried to upgrade 10.x Suse with the latest Suse 11.x upgrade DVD on a windows XP/Suse 512M ram, 80G hardrive Sempron, The update froze up, for a long time, the screen and keyboard froze, my drive lights showed no activity on the hardrive or DVDROM, so I rebooted, and it came to a locked suse boot screen/ no keyboard,

I then did the repair/rescue and it crashed again, this time reboot came back with some sort of GRUB command line thingy, saying it was bash like … :’(

I foolishly did the same thing again, but tried to switch to liloas bootloaderr, and it showed something like dev/hda0/Windows hda1, on a list of bootable devices,

It Crashed one more time, now when I boot from hard disk, the computer says Grub,

No command line thingy … Just says Grub,

Using a slack boot pointing at Suse starts and awakes the Kernel Panic

What should I do ?

:’(

You sound in a mess.

An upgrade is out of the question anyway

Hopefully your windows partition remains.

I checked the installation medium, I have two current bootable DVD’s and a live CD disk, all three pass md5sum,

The install crashed, repair now won’t fix “the boot record” when I follow install boot loader from the “expert” menu,

it say’s it cant find a file then failed to write a file, I tried both lilo and grub,

When I boot it just says grub,

GRUB

Re-install

If you really want to to try to fetch grub back try this
