I am wondering is there a way to add wastebin, cd-rom etc. to SUSE’s Gnome menu “Places” except adding those locations to favorites?
Because when I add wastebin for example it got a icon of folder in places and in nautilus I got 2 wastebin’s
Any ideas?
emiltusiowy,
How are you going about this, by editing
the /usr/share/gnome-main-menu/places.xbel file directly?
That’s the only way I’m aware of.

No by adding some places to favorites in nautilus
emiltusiowy,
OK, have a look at the file I mentioned.
It’s pretty straight forward XML syntax so it shouldn’t be
that hard to figure it out.

Bookmark the page by clicking on Bookmarks->Add
It’ll be listed under places then.

emiltusiowy,
Yep, no need telling you try what you’ve already tried.
Did my suggestion work any better for you?

Yes, but is there any way to choose icons for those custom places?
I have added a wastebasket but it still has a regular folder icon
emiltusiowy,
I’m not aware of how to change the icons in here.
I’m afraid it will just go by the type and get the
icon from the system.
