Hi to everyone
I am using openSuse 11 on my laptop and sometimes, with no specific reason it completly blocks, I can just see the mouse cursor responding to my mouse input, all the rest is completly frozen and I need to reboot by pressing the power off button on my laptop.
I have no idea about what I can do to start to find out what is causing this problem.
No, I have a partition NTFS with Windows XP and all the rest is for Linux, so I suppose it’s the default file system Ext2 or something like that that is set as default option while installing Suse.
i can’t tell if you posted to the web forum or via NNTP…in either
case if you go to http://forums.opensuse.org/search.php and search for
all threads with this in the subject line [that is, select “Search
Titles Only” just under the the “Search by Keyword(s)” blank]
freeze OR lock-up OR crash
and, if you read those you are very likely to solve your freeze problem
with openSuSE 11.0

That’s hard to troubleshoot without more details. If you are using KDE4, I suggest you either update to the latest version in the Factory repo, or better (IMHO) use KDE 3.5 instead.
