SUSE cannot find update medium

Hi,

When I install a package. The system (SUSE 12.1, 64 bit) complain that it cannot a file on the medium, see below please.

I have no idea to solve this problem. Could you help me on that?

Thanks in advance.

blackhawk@linux-iu5j:~> sudo zypper install mozilla-xulrunner191
root’s password:
File ‘/repodata/repomd.xml’ not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Factory:/Contrib/openSUSE_12.1/

Apparently this repository was removed. If you want to know why, you better ask on Factory mailing list.

Please use code tags to post that. Advanced editor, # button

Do you have internet connectivity?

Please note that SUSE 12.1 does not exist. I guess you are using
openSUSE 12.1 instead.

Thanks. What is the new repository path? How to change my OPENSUSE to a new path?

Take a look at the repos through Yast - Software - Repository Manager. There’s probably one pointing to the cd / dvd . If so, remove that one, and restart the software manager.
If not, please post output of

zypper lr -d

between CODE tags (the # in the editor)

Depends what you added the Factory:Contrib repo for. I know the Chromium packages were in that repo once, but…

I always thought that Factory repos are generally for the release in development and 12.1 was released long time ago
Contrib is also being deprecated starting 12.1 https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Contrib

you are correct! factory now contains openSUSE 12.3 in active, pre-Beta
development…

there are NO 12.1 files available in any repo with “factory” in its
address.
