i guess you mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Access_Card
does this help:
read the section titled “Non-Windows support” on that page…it knows
all i know (because i had to google CAC), and i see links to
http://spi.dod.mil/lipose.htm
and btw: stand up straight!

Fascinating. I wonder if it works on a Windows trusted computer?

Back under SuSE 11 I had Firefox working with the CAC using coolkey and pcsc-lite. Now it seems cackey is the way to go. I have access to sourceforge.mil and have searching/reading/trying solutions that I have found. Unfortunately, not getting anywhere yet. Was hoping to find someone who has gotten it working.

No sweat. Different hardware this time around too. Additional headache is the reader is a Texas Instruments PCI6515 SmartCard Controller. Haven’t found anything positive with this reader.

you might try nosing around in TI.com–maybe find a forum where some of
their linux hackers (they MUST have some/plenty) hang out…i bet their
laptops/desktops get into the secure TI nets without having to boot
though fragile Windows…
don’tcha reckon?
