Installation of 9.3 cannot find any cdrom dvd or other devices in /dev
You can create the desktop Icon but there is no /dev/cdrom or /dev/dvd or anything that can be recognized relating to drives.
Both drives are SCSI. System is used as backup and we would like to add stuff to it but no CD support.
I have never seen a Linux system missing the basics.
Is there any fix for this goof up.

Is it maybe set as /dev/sr0?
Hi
Hwinfo should show the devices it can use;
/usr/sbin/hwinfo --cdrom |grep "Device File"
