Dear all,
I was using dualboot suse 13.2 and win7 system very nice until I connected new hdd. Now the grubloader starts (seeing blackscreen with several dots as usual)during the boot but then after that it doesn’t show the menu to select the oss.
I tried with suse dvd to get into rescue environment but it hangs. From live suse dvd it was clear that the device numberring was changed. Without changing the device connectors is there possibility to repair the grub device mappings, i.e. the boot?
Thanks in advance, hopefully with your support I can use the already installed suse.
Show us the /etc/fstab from the root partition on the drive. it sounds like you were not using the UUID syntax but the /dev/sdX# syntax to identify partitions which can change if you add or remove drives.
This is now in the English language part. People who do not understand Dutch have answered you to help you. Can you please be so kind to answer back in English so they will understand what you are saying?
I had this problem after I added a new hdd. I downloaded and created a boot disk with super grub 2 disk. I only used the super grub CD to get into my installation, not to re-do Grub in that installation. Once I was “in” Tumbleweed, I used the Yast GUI to reinstall grub. Tumbleweed has booted OK for me ever after, don’t know if it’s a universal fix though.
