Suse 12.2 randomly freezes on 2 different upgraded systems. Need help to troubleshoot the problem

I had upgraded a desktop system with 11.4 32bit and Lenovo Laptop Z575 with 12.1 to 12.2.
Both systems have a stability issues and randomly freeze (keyboard/mouse not responding, accessing the system remotely is not possible and internal sound card starting producing a high pitch sound).
Looking the way to collect some troubleshooting information to submit a defect.

Log file /var/log/message doesn’t contain any useful information at the time of event.

Sometimes system freezes almost immediately when

  1. started playing music
  2. started watching youtube video
  3. accessing a web camera

However it may freeze on idle when basically no desktop application is running.

I upgraded a pulseaudio from multimedia:libs and at least accessing the web camera no longer freezes the system every time.

A note: system crashed while preparing this posting. Kudos to SuSE team with autosave feature

I also step into this Issue! Randomly freeze of a new installed openSuse 12.2 on a new Laptop.

Processor: i7
RAM: 16GB
HD: 256 SSD
Graphic: NVIDIA Optimus 660M

I also can’t identify any usefully info’s in the messages.

Did you install the NVIDIA drivers? Support for hybrid graphics is still quite young

Yes, they was installed. I have uninstalled it. Let’s wait some time.

Indeed, a latest kernel update seems to have some issues fixed.
Kernel is downloaded from the repo: URL: Index of /repositories/Kernel:/openSUSE-12.2/standard
