Suse 12.1 DNS server

So I have installed Suse 12.1 onto our replacement server and as we were trying to switch out and do a test we noticed that there is no DNS server option in the network services group in yast. How do i get that to show up for future changes? Sorry if this is a basic question but I have only been involved for 3 months in anything linux/IT. Thanks in advance for your help.

Please post your question only once;

And in that other thread there were some suggestions/questions to which you did nor answer.

You are getting confused. :slight_smile:

cliedwards posted only once, in this thread, and he also asked in another thread from 2010 if
that other poster (byterbit) had his issue solved (that year) - and I guess not, as the
suggestion to install the proper yast module is recent, not in 2010 and he did not come back.

Because you have to install the yast dns module first :slight_smile:

Just fire up the package manager of your choice, search for “yast-” and look in the answer for
something with dns or bind in the name.

It is easy to know the answer when you know where to look :wink:
