Suse 11 gnome Live install issue

Hi folks,
I am running a MSI 965 neo with 3gig proc (intel) and 2gig ddr2 ram, 300gb sata hd, sata dvd-rw and ati radeon 9250 video board. The live cd runs, I can set up my wireless card (Belkin wireless g) and cruise the Internet. When I try the “live install” option, every thing seems to work until the requested reboot. on reboot, the systems boots to a [grub] command line environment and that’s as far as I get.

I really could use some guidance here, big time, as I am somewhat new to Linux, and very new to SUSE, though I really liked what I saw from the live cd.

Thanks in advance!

[QUOTE=dbarcana;1846620]Hi folks,
on reboot, the systems boots to a [grub] command line environment and that’s as far as I get.
Normally when GRub appears it also came up with some options or does it directly goes in to failsafe mode = let say command line?
Being on the command line what happens if you use the commande startx ?
If nothing happens use the command yast2
Inspected you hardware give special attention to the graphic card and monitor looks for the spec .If not correct try to change it ,test it
and if it is good save it . Afterwards try startx again

By Grub command line environment, do you mean you see a prompt like this:

grub >

If “yes” then please post the output of this command from that prompt:

grub > find /boot/grub/menu.lst

and this one too:

grub > find /boot/initrd

If those work then we might be able to climb up to your installation and start it – then repair it.
