welcome to the suse forums;not all printers work perfectly on linux;
this website OpenPrinting database - All Epson Printers lists what is known about Epson printers;
two ways to get your printer working;
quickly and well; go to turboprint; ZEDOnet | TurboPrint Linux | Printer driver for Linux and for the price of a week’s supply of latte, buy their programme; it will run your printer;
google the epson website; find the printer driver you need; download; install; sounds like it works "mostly’
let us know how you get along

PV is right; seems the gutenprint printer driver will work for your device;
suse uses LSB 3.1 and suse uses the rpm package method;
and you need to work out if you have 32bit or 64bit suse;
so you can download and try the rpm LSB 3.1 variant of 32 or 64bit;
for the scanner driver you need to go to the Epson Japan website and find the rpm scanner driver;
if you want guidance on installing rpms get back to the forum
