[SUSE 11.4] UNSOLVED issue "System freezing"

Hi to all,

This thread is prior to my previous thread
[SUSE 11.4] System freezes at random times](http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/467519-suse-11-4-system-freezes-random-times.html)

I’m having a very hard time with this issue and still didn’t find a working solution. While looking at the logs (/etc/var/messages) I have noted down this error message at exact time when the freeze happened.

[16907.184837] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU idle, missed IRQ.

As per my knowledge this is something to do with my graphics driver. I have searched through Google about this error and in this forum too but didn’t find a way to get over with it.

My system:

Intel core i3-2100 (Sandybridge) with integrated Intel HD graphics 2000
SUSE 11.4 with all updates
Kernal: 2.6.37.6-0.9-desktop

Thanks.

It’s far better to continue in the existing thread rather than starting a
new thread partway into the topic. Starting a new thread makes it more
difficult for people to follow what’s already been done.

I started a new thread because to get more attention on this issue

That won’t make any difference - please stick to the original thread so
all the information those who will help you is in one place.

Thanks.
