SuSE 11.1: VERY slow performance Remote Administration VNC

Hi Everyone,

I have installed a OpenSuSE 11.1, performed the Update and activated Remote Administration (VNC) from within Yast.

The problem is - it works - but it’s extreamly SLOW!! The performance is so pure, that I can’t use the VNC to remote manage my ‘server’ :’(

I have been using the VNC way of remoting my server with earlier releases of SuSE, but 11.1, it’s not performing :frowning:

So I hope, that one of you VNC guys are able to help me speed up my VNC configuration… Have tried, with my Linux skills, to look through the diverse logs etc, but haven’t seen any other errors or such. So I’m guessing that it’s a problem with the VNC configuration, as the machine seems to be working perfect when I’m using the console.

So any hints on VNC guys

VNC in OpenSUSE 11 - Page 2 - openSUSE Forums

by downloading JollyFASTVnc, seems to do the trick.

This is strange. I’m using VNC to connect to work and I’m connecting via a Cisco VPN. I don’t encounter any issues with it. Maybe yyou can run some tests to see where is the bottleneck. You should run some network troubleshooting commands. I just read few days ago this tutorial and I would suggest you try to read and run some tests from it.
