No, EOL’ed. See other threads in forum and search for evergreen in the wiki for a repo for critical updates to keep 11.1 going.
Thanks for the reply.
Can I easily upgrade to the latest version?
Sorry I am a newbie and user only.
Its so stable you forget about it, only latterly has the updating not been able to find the repositories?
Thanks
For 11.1 support check this openSUSE 11.1 is EOL
Upgrading is not difficult, it may be useful to try a liveCD of 11.2 or 11.3 first to check hardware compatibility. Or wait a few weeks for 11.4 liveCD and try that.
thanks very much
Hi
The LiveCD of 11.3 runs and the computer works. Cant test much, but get web pages and open office etc.
No sound and no bbciplayer.
I have downloaded 11.3, would it be a good idea to load and where do I find the procedure ?
Thanks
In my opinion, you have good reason to create a separate partition for 11.3 (at least until everything is sorted) well, that’s what I would do!
Thanks. Sounds good idea.
It that obvious how to do from the downloaded DVD?
how to do from the downloaded DVD?
I usually set up partitions first with Download Parted Magic from SourceForge.net
It can be done from the DVD, look at the partitioning options, choose the advanced (or what it is called, I don’t know, ) post back if you don’t get it, You only need to resize one partition, and create one partition (a few GB) to do this, again post back if needed.
Thank-you
I will run the DVD and see if there are partition optiions. If not will use your link
It’s a pity 11.1 is so stable, I am not sure why these new versions are not backwards compatable, or at least take the settings from previous versions.
I know my sister has been running 10.2 for about 5 years I would say, she realises it is out of date but is so stable wont let anyone touch it.
Thanks

I don’t understand.
If what you mean is whether you can simply upgrade your current 11.1 to
11.2, 11.3 or 11.4, keeping all your configurations, yes, you can, I have
done it for years. However, it is not exactly “simple”, and some advice to
install fresh instead.
Not me, but it is more work. First, install fresh on a small partition the
new version, so that you can check if it works for you. Then, do a full
backup of the “work” partition, finally, upgrade it.
Search our wiki for “upgrade”, and the official documentation (inside the
dvd) for “dvd upgrade”.

You should consider Evergreen.
