Been trying to burn an iso to a blank dvd. When ever i insert the blank dvd, suse doesnt see it. I tried opening k3b and it just says select a burning medium. I looked under the config settings and it says no on dvd write for the drive. This drive does do dvd burning, i have done it before but why cant i now. Is there a codec im missing?

You don’t need any codec for burning data CD/DVDs. Post the output of the following:

Here is my id output. I think you should add “cdrom” group, in order to make k3b to work.

I don’t know if you’re still having the blank dvd problem, but I was having it also and was racking my brain trying to solve it through the terminal and all that line command junk.
Turns out all I had to do was go into Install Software and update my K3b codecs. Worth a shot
