suse 11.1 camera working & not on skype - help

suse 11.1 finally got a logitech notebooks pro webcam to work, one that is listed a questionable, and not getting it to work with skype. Runs with luvcview. Anybody have answer to this?

I have this webcam too. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get it to work. How did you get it to work?

It took me days, on off frustration, seaching web, etc., found some hints for other cameras here. I’m not an expert and this is what got luvcview to work and see a picture.

At first I got no /dev/video0 errror, and I did a manual make of it with,

mknod -m 644 /dev/video0 c 81 0

Then, ERROR opening V4L interface, and I did, with camera unpluged,

modprobe -r uvcvideo

All of the commands were given in terminal as adim.

Since then I had it work on and off, the mic/sound in the camera seems to conflict with settings for sound board in Toshiba Satellite.

Arrg, it worked for one call on skype and then after only video.

I still want some help myself.

Also, I had loaded a lot of stuff like the packman etc., you should do a search here and find what I read and make your own decisions and not listen to a guy who only got part of it working. Good luck.

OK, now I seem to have skype working video and audio, however the audio has a snap like sound every couple of seconds. Arrrggg.
