Suse 11.0 nvidia software repository not working when the updater is run, and it gives an error message which indicates it must be out dated and no longer used. Here is the site in my repository for nvidia; http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.0 , I did try to add a new nvidia repository site with that Yast tool, but I could not get it to fully work. The new one I did find was as a ftp type, not http; ftp://download.nvidia.com/novell/sle11/i586. With this older Suse 11.0, and kernel 2.6.25.20-0.7-pae, then is it true that there may not be any more nvidia display driver updates available.? So then I should just remove that nvidia repository from the list, and be okay if the kernel does not update too much newer version, right ?
SUSE Linux Lifetime - openSUSE
The site is not really up to date, but the dates there are accurate.
In a nutshell, 11.0 is dead.

and, the only supported versions of openSUSE are: 11.1, 11.2 and 11.3,
because 11.1 went non-supported in July 2010, see:
http://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime
my strong urge would be to install a supported version…
and, if you need a version which is supported for more than the
nominal 18 months you may opt for other distros or maybe try SUSE
Enterprise Linux Desktop (or Server) from Novell.com
note: i’m not associated with Novell in anyway and i’m not here
shilling for them…fact is i’ve never booted a SLED…

Okay then I see, I did order the newer 11.3 DVD and will install it soon. Is that new SUSE with the newer KDE, ext 4 file system, and the grub 2 ? Also in the kernel it has a; PAE, so what does that mean?
11.3 DVD had kde4 and gnome +other desktops
ext4 is the default but you can choose
11.3 uses grub-legacy not grub2
PAE is a kernel option, google PAE, it’s all about making +3GB RAM available to 32 bit systems, but kernel-desktop also provides this support.
You know you can download the DVD don’t you?
