suse 10.3 + VMWare

Hi ive installed suse 10.3 and vmware 6.5.2
while starting vmware i get an error message of kernel mismatch. which VMWare version works on suse 10.3

my requirement i want to virtualize windowsxp on suse 10.3 of which the windowsxp serial port communicating to suse serial port

Any reason for not using a recent version of openSUSE?
Most virtual machines have a loadable module compatible with the kernel. If you use old kernel versions, they may not work. (Needs to be compiled for that kernel version).
What about using openSUSE 11.1 with VirtualBox instead of VMware?

i have some dependency on the suse 10.3
especially with that kernel…
so i cant go for other latest version of suse
im ok for the lesser version of vmware
only my requirement is the windows serial port to communicate with the opensuse 10.3 serial port of which the opensuse to be as the host

Since VMWare is not open source, you may not be able to compile it for your kernel unless you get an older compatible version from somewhere.
