SUSE 10.3 remote access

I’m running SUSE 10.3 in an HP Proliant Server since 8 months ago, working basically as a Database Server (MySQL) in a LAN environment.
Now I need to access it remotely, but I just can’t figure out what is wrong.
I have configured my router to forward ports 3306 for mysql and 22 for remote shell, but none of the mentioned services can be accessed from the outside (they work fine from the LAN).
I have disabled the firewall and the problem persist.
The netstat command shows the ports are open and listening. Is there anything I am missing?

Thanks in advance,
Jorge Conde

What ssh client are you using to access remotely? Putty (windows) or another
linux box?

Anyway, you can try to activate verbose logging on client side to see what’s
going on:

ssh -vvv user@host

AppArmor, besides firewall, could be another source of “problems”. If
enabled, try stopping the service on server side (rcapparmor stop) and then
try to connect again.
