I’m running Suse 10.3 i386 and when I restart the box I cannot log into the domain. In order to do so I log into the local and re run the winbind in my yast. Then log out and then It will let me log in to domain.
What causes that ?

Is Winbind set to start automatically?
Open a terminal window and type:
/sbin/chkconfig --list winbind
Also check /var/log/samba/log.winbindd for errors (It’s a text file)
yes its set to start at boot. ive not looked at the log yet
this is from the log.

i have the same problem.
If you disable the early-xdm service the problem goes away.
You have to wait a bit longer to get the login screen but domain logon immediately works.
Thanks i will give it a shot
How long of a wait is it?
On my machine (Dell D630) it is 5 to 7 seconds.
Boot speed should be better on opensuse 11
Well when I disabled it , after a lil I wait… all that came up was a text log in… not a gui log in… Or do I have to wait longer
Make sure you disabled early-xdm and not xdm
