I want to have all network activity going into and out of my SUSE 10.3 logged.
And also sshd sessions and Remote Administration too.
This means I should select LOG ALL during yast2 firewall?
Then which log file should I look at? At /var/log?
i dont think the firewall will log what you need.
You need enable Proxy in yast. Someone van surely point you in the right direction for that. Making your SuSE box a proxy server…
Your SuSE box is the Gateway? It handles DHCP and Routing?

You need to be “fast on your fingers” … 
… after much discussion, and listening to user’s requests, an edit up to 10 minutes after a post, was implemented on the forum.
So it does mean, if you are like me and make a zillion mistakes in your post :eek: (despite best efforts to the contrary), after pushing the “submit reply” button, you have 10 minutes to quickly review again your post, and very very very quickly make a change. The clock is ticking!
Far better to get it right the first time (even though I, for the live of me, can’t do that).

If you’re talking about logon/logoffs to your box,
You can search these forums for “lastb” which will likely turn up my old threads which will also point you to analyzing the “messages” file.
That should pretty much cover all types of logon/logoffs, whether through a remote or local interface.
