I’m astonished with the smooth install of Tumbleweed (Gnome) on my 8 yr. old MS Surface 3 (4GB RAM, 128 GB SSD) and thoroughly enjoyed the quick toss of Windows 10 into the binary aether.
I guess I was expecting a little resistance, but experienced none. Everything works from the start, WiFi, rotation, touch, etc… Like I said, I’m a little stunned…and IMO Gnome is the perfect DE for this device.
P.S. I did try to install Aeon, but had an issue and couldn’t get it done. I will attempt Aeon with the next image, for I feel it’s going to be the best of all worlds on this device. I’ve been using Linux for over 20 years, and openSUSE of over 1 year. Tumbleweed has completely impressed with KDE on my daily driver dual monitor desktop and now again with this Surface 3. AMAZING!
Great to hear your good news.
