I updated my Tumbleweed box yesterday and when I booted up this morning, my keyboard and mouse didn’t work. I didn’t recall any updates for X11 but I could be wrong. The keyboard works fine in runlevel 3. Anyone else getting this or know a workaround?
You really should start your own thread in tumbleweed subforum area, as the users who know the answer for a USB keyboard/mouse not working in tumbleweed are not likely to think a subject with “summer begins with a deep upgrade” has any thing to do with a keyboard/mouse.
No USB keyboard detected in X (config file to edit)
While creating a new thread and waiting for an answer, for the keyboard you could look here:
No keyboard after upgrade to 11.4
Yes, for getting a qualified answer to your special question better open a separate thread. By the way, do you use proprietary nvidia, which just had an update?
I posted my question here because I thought maybe the keyboard problem was associated the the upgrade referred to by the OP and other people might be experiencing it as well. After some investigation, I discovered that I had failed to notice that xorg-x11-server had been updated a few days previous.
When I re-installed the nvidia drivers, my keyboard started working within X again. But thanks for the suggestion.
