Hi
You can build it from the fedora one, it does have a requirement for
blas-devel, but in openSUSE these two libraries are provided by blas.

You could build from the fedora spec file in the src rpm but edit this
file to reflect blas rather than blas-devel.

I’ve done a quick change here and build on a i586 system without
problems.

If you want I can redo the spec file for a openSUSE type one and post
for you to use?

Hi
I started a home project for this on the build service, so it should
get in the queue soon and be built.

You will need to search here for it;

Hi
The src and x86_64 versions are on the server now, shouldn’t be long
before the i586 versions are there;

The build did create a few warnings (not show stoppers), so will get
them sorted in a few days.

Hi,
Thanks for your efforts. I was able to download
suitesparse-devel-3.1.0-3.1.i586.rpm but not
suitesparse-3.1.0-3.1.i586.rpm.

Could you tell me how to build such rpms? I need them for a package. I
had downloaded the suitesparse source code and was able (i think) to
compile and get the headers and libraries. But i was unable to use the
configure options CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS of the package that needs
suitesparse. I can use checkinstall if there is a conventional package
that uses the ./configure, make and make install, but there is no such
step for suitesparse. So how do i create an rpm?

Hi
You may find it’s not at the mirror your system is being directed too
(Keep trying…).

Were you using the search link?

I just used the fedora spec file and modified it, then used the build
service.

Welcome to the openSUSE Build
Service

If you download the src rpm this has the spec file with all the
relevant information on what it does to make an rpm.

Is there a spec file in the source you downloaded? If so, you can copy
this and the original file you downloaded to /usr/src/packages/SOURCE.

You then can use the command;

rpmbuild -ba /usr/src/packages/SOURCE/<name_of_spec_file>
