Suggestions for intermediate quality wireless audio headset?

Given that the landscape for bluetooth headsets is pretty bleak in 13.1 and the prospect of the issues being very long in the fixing, I’m looking at alternate technologies for wireless headset audio, both input and output. I have a Logitech wireless headset which works quite well, but only over a restricted range, and while it is light, it is also obvious since it is a dual earpiece band over the head type. So I’m wondering about alternatives. I understand that TED uses a lot of DPA 4088 sets, but at 700$ this is outside my budget. Anyone have any thoughts about a good quality non-bluetooth audio headset solution?

I have an Asus stereo with mic headset that i like very well, about U$100.
Range about 70 feet (anywhere in my place). Pretty decent sound.
Bluetooth with proprietary USB xcvr, about 4 to 5 hours per headset
recharge.
