Suggestions for having a nearly fresh installation of leap 16 without all the clutter?

I’m about to install leap-16.

How can I get rid of the clutter like installed programs that I don’t want to use anymore over the years, all of its config files, unused pypi installation/program files etc?
Should I format my “/home” and begin with a fresh one when installing leap-16?
Limitation: I only want to keep my “autostart” configuration, users configuration and
yast configuration. Which files should I backup for that reason?
Of course I do a backup of my relevant /home files before.

I have installed all the leap versions and previous versions for the last 10 years.I mean with installation that I boot vom CD/DVD/usb and do the typical installation by format my “/” and reuse my existing /home.

I haven’t found a similar question int the forum

You answered your question yourself. If you format /, all installed apps are gone (except you installed some third party apps into your /home).

Configs can be deleted from your /home by deleting the relevant directories under ./config ./local/share and so on.

Personally I would format / and then only remove those ~/.config that cause problems and possibly create a fresh new user to check what a pristine config looks like.

Creating a fresh new user is a fantastic idea!
Because I have a backup (old user directory)
