suggestion for file rename GUI app for OpenSUSE/KDE

I am currently using Windows and one of the app I frequently use is something called Advanced Renamer.

One of the features I often use is the ability to append/prepend folder names to file names.

example:

-folder1
 -- folder1-test.txt

– folder11
---- folder1-folder11-test.txt

I would also like these additional features:

  1. ability to change file to an incrementing one with the option to pad zeroes (example: image001.jpg or image0001.jpg or image01.jpg)
  2. ability to remove, insert or replace text in the filename

Any ideas for a GUI app with these features? Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Forum :slight_smile:
Possibly something like this;
http://file-folder-ren.sourceforge.net/

I see a user has it built on OBS;
https://software.opensuse.org/package/metamorphose2

But might be better to grab the source and build yourself…

Or have a look at krename:

It is of course included in openSUSE, just install it with YaST or zypper.
