So after about 4 hours and a night of sleep, I finally got openSUSE KDE dual-booted with Vista without a problem and even without having to edit the menu.lst! 
So now, I want to setup my desktop with some of the effects shown in the screenshots such as:

Point me in the right direction perhaps? Thanks a ton and it’s good to find a community so willing to help out! I solved all my little problems during install by searching through the forums!
