I’ve been trying to follow the official guide (https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AMDGPU-PRO) on how to install them, but once I’ve added the repository I haven’t been able to install any of the packages because they appear to not be signed. Is anyone aware of the issue and how to solve it?
I need it for OpenCL support, and unfortunately my GPU is not supported by ROCm (it’s R9 280X).
Thank you.
P.S. I’m not an inexperienced Linux user, so be forgiving if I ask obvious questions
ISTR the amdgpu-pro is no longer viable, and that you should be trying to follow the instructions on https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AMDGPU to get OpenCL support. The current version of the amdgpu-pro page is obviously fubar at least to some extent. Even the amdgpu page looks like needs some improvement. If you ensure xf86-video-ati is not installed and xf86-video-amdgpu is installed I’d expect you to have what you need with no more fuss, but I’m no AMD expert. All mine are Oland or older. My Oland is working in TW as expected using xf86-video-amdgpu.

Hi
Did you install Mesa-libOpenCL and clinfo packages?

That page does not have instructions on how to obtain OpenCL support, and from the information I’ve gathered you need a Pro install to obtain it.
I’ll try to remove x86-video-ati as suggested.
I’m currently unable to use the graphics card as it is heavily glitching during boot and does not seem to work at all after the bootloader stage; I’m using the integrated GPU from my CPU.
Yes.
As stated above, I’m currently failing to use my GPU; I figured I would try reinstalling my drivers (I used amdgpu-pro 18.30 somewhat succesfully for a few months) before claiming it is a hardware issue.
EDIT: I would reframe my issue as one with the signatures of the packages, that appear to be either absent or not recognised in the repomd.xml file. Does anyone have any clues on how to deal with that? I don’t want to make any breaking changes by installing unsigned packages.
Hi
My system is using the oss drivers, so you get no clinfo output?
If you install switcheroo-control and enable the systemd service, can you then use DRI_PRIME=1 <some app> to run the gpu?
https://community.amd.com/thread/232600 seems to be saying github has a solution for FOSS amdgpu. AMD Open Source Driver for Vulkan | Hacker News seems to suggest OpenCL is a stillborn code path. What is it that causes your need for OpenCL?
AMD provides driver for a SLED/SLES 15 = openSUSE Leap 15, not for a TW.
it’s R9 280X
GCN1.
No SLED/SLES 15 support.
Revision Number Crimson Edition 15.12
Release Date 18/12/2015
Driver is too old.

No support for the

But for a AMD Radeon HD 7730 (GCN1 too):
https://www.amd.com/ru/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-7000-series/amd-radeon-hd-7730
SLED/SLES 15 is supported.

So change your hardware. Maybe supported videocard will cost less than yours.

Maybe your CPU has needed support.
