I tried to subscribe to a couple of threads with e-mail notification but it doesn’t seem to be doing the e-mail. Also when I go to user control panel it says I’m not subscribed to any… what am I doing wrong…
Not sure about the Email, but when you goto the user control panel be sure to click “View all Subscribed Threads” which is about a 1/3 of the way down on the RH side of page.

The last time I used it, the email notification arrived a couple of days AFTER
the new posting it announced had already been read. Pretty poor notification
service I’d say.

There are 4 options when you subscribe to a thread:
no email notification
instant notification by email
daily updates by email
weekly updates by email
Make sure you have the right selection
What? No prior day notification??

I did subscribe to immediate notice by e-mail and those emails started showing up today so I’ll blame yahoo… I’ve had them deliver stuff months after something was sent before so I’ll assume that happened once again…
thank you for the info on subscribed threads I will look for that.
My Linux Open SUSE (Medriva) does not put out any sound, it never did. My Dad set it up about 6 months ago when it was brand new. It says I have no sound card, and something to do with the dBus thing a majigger. I tried going to Yast control, and going to Hard were, and selecting sound, and the clicking on the button “other”, but there is no volume control buttons, only something that says volume, and sound cards 0. Please help, thank you, Reuben.
You may want to post this in a different thread.
Please start up a new thread asking for help. In the mean time, try working your way through this audio troubleshooting guide:

and if you have trouble trying it, please start a new thread under:

I find stuff ends up there
