Thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread. I had patched cairo, freetype and fontconfig (and possibly Xft as well) from Ubuntu to get the same look and feel on openSUSE as I get in Ubuntu. Now, I have little idea of the “magic” being performed (and I guess the “magic” is in fontconfig) that dramatically enhances the look and feel. I have patched freetype, cairo and fontconfig with the openSUSE bug fix patches…in addition to the Ubuntu patches.
Regarding their legal status- as I’ve said before, I’ll take them down if they do violate the terms and conditions of the OBS. It seems like they do- so I will remove the packages from my repo and take them private soon.

I was using your patches avidly on all my systems. Is there a new private repository that I can use? At least witht he expreimental patches. Thank you for your hard work

I have the RPMs on my laptop but do not have access to a hosting site…I’m sorry
I do not intend to maintain these patches as I have moved on to using Mint full time as opposed to openSUSE.
